10 Ways to Perk Up Our Day

Have you been felling lethargic throughout the week? Try these minor tweaks to our routine that will leave us feeling perky through the day.

From physical to emotional, there are many issues that could be keeping us down. But it also could be something as simple as monotony. Here are few things we can tweak in our life to pick ourselves up.
Go To Sleep Happy:
This list starts off our day before we even begin it. Make sure our day is fully optimized by a night of quality sleep. Our mood without this vital happiness hit can be a creature of changeable temper. So if we want to create a better day tomorrow, think positive thoughts before bed. Leave the bad behind, dispense with the problems. Be happy and concentrate on making our life excellent. Sleep.
Wake up a few minutes earlier:
Bath and showers are proven to have a healing effect on humans as they make us feel like our worries are washing away. Instead of hopping in and out of the shower though, make time for a relaxing bath. Even if it last for only fifteen minutes, we will feel much better of it.
Sweat:
Sweat. Seems like petty vague and somewhat bizarre solution to our bad day, right? If we can do some form of physical activity, though – running, walking, dancing – those positive endorphins will start flowing and we will be feeling a boost of positivity before we know it.
A Nice Gesture:
One of the best ways to make ourselves happy is to do something nice for someone else. Why not give someone a cuddle, make tea for a loved one or buy your friend a small gift? That warm fuzzy feeling that stems from seeing someone else happy because of you is contagious.
Have a Quite Time:
If we are feeling moody and we could snap at any moment, take ourselves out of all social solutions and take a few long, deep breaths. We will usually find that by the time we have had a little time away from people; we will have calmed down a lot and we are less likely to snap anytime.
Clear out Clutter:
A cluttered space leads to a cluttered mind, so make it our mission to de-clutter and we will find that our day has been given a nudge in the right direction. Whether it is our kitchen, our bedroom or our desk, start on a little section at a time and we will feel a sense of satisfaction each time we see our sparkling clean surroundings.
Light a Citrus-scented Candle:

Improve our day by burning a lemon-scented candle. You heard that right. Scientists suggest that citrus fragrances – particularly lemon – can alleviate depression and boost our mood.
Have a Glass of Orange Juice:
Researchers say that a good dose of Vitamin C lowers our levels of stress hormones such as cortisol, helping us to manage stress more effectively. Next time you’re having a stressful afternoon, reach for a glass of orange juice to ease you through.
Laugh Out Loud:
Whether we are having a bad day or just want to add little ‘oomph’, nothing makes our day happier than a good laughing session. Every time we laugh increased levels of oxygen soar to our organs and stress evaporates. Weather we opt to go for lunch with a friend who never fails to have us in stitches, or we watch a hilarious YouTube video, laughing out loud is a surefire way to boost our day.
Pet Our Pet:
If we are the owner of a furry little friend, making time to simple sit with our pet can seriously boost our happiness. Every time we pet an animal, our body releases feel-good hormones such as oxytocin, prolactin and serotonin, and this leads to lower blood pressure, happiness and less anxiety. Sound good!
