How to Build Positive Thinking to Improve a Bad Day?

I've had some bad mornings in my life – mornings where I was late for routine life style, continues anger towards anything or anyone whom I see on my way, ended being cornered to myself. I was in complete dilemma without knowing how to move further. Then one day I analyzed my life and found out the great truth, that anyone can face problems in life, there might be people out there who are facing issues more than I face a day but still be successful. Despite of all the problems, I should manage to wake up again the next day, ready to face and change the world with the power of positive thinking.

Happy people used to annoy me or surprise me sometimes. I just wondered looking at them why I am alone is not happy?  But then I realized I don’t have to be angry; just because I have problems doesn't mean I have to focus completely on them. Instead, I can resolve them within and work toward a positive outcome. That’s when I discovered the power of positive thinking, and I happen to read book about positive thinking which created miraculous changes in people life.

“All we are the result of all we have thought” – Buddha

This created significant changes in my life; I realized I have the complete control of my life, creating a positive thinking I can create a world of my own.

Just Do It!

The most important trick to positive thinking is to simply think positive. I know this sounds a bit apparent and inaccessible, but trust me it is easier than it sounds. Our thoughts are completely under our control. We are the one who really hears them, unless we choose to say them or act upon them.

For example, you wake up in the morning and find out that it’s the last day to finish your project I office. Here you can choose to either freak out completely and stress how little time left for you to complete the task, lowering your mood and allowing your day to be controlled by thinking that no time left or you can choose to focus on how to make the best of the position you are in. It’s our choice.

You’re Not Alone:

Life sucks sometimes. It goes through a dumpy road. Bad things happen to all of us — no matter how rich, famous, or successful we are, everyone goes through the same road. So why do some of us smile while others don’t? It’s not a natural disposition; some people just repeat hymns in their head whenever a bad thought enters their head.

I get angry sometimes; so angry that I might end up in breaking my coffee cup; other times I get sad, or even depressed and think of crying out loudly. I've had thoughts of what things would be like if I were dead. Recently I anguished over where the hell my life is going, and why it feels like I can’t do anything right. I've made mistakes and bad decisions that have cost me nearly everything on more than one occasion. This put my life on stake. I stuck up in the middle of a fast moving cowed as if lost. But I endure getting back up, putting a smile on my face, with an assurance to face the world around me and going back out there to try again. You can do this too, but you need to start thinking positively. Here’s how I do it.

Parrot Me…

When I wake up in the morning, one of the first things I do is to be grateful for every moment I have lived and every moment I am yet to. Gratitude is one of the best ways to bring more into our life. Every day I do not get out of my bed unless I have felt the feelings of gratitude for the brand new day and all I am grateful for in my life. Then I start my everyday routine. This sets the tone for the rest of the day.

It is not necessary that the day goes by with the same happiness. Sometimes I need a refresher for a variety of reasons. There will be lot of things around us which might be annoying. During these times, I close my eyes for ten seconds and breathe, repeating, “This, too, shall pass,” in my head over and over until I calm down. This is great exercise to control my thoughts. Whenever I have downtime, I take a moment to think about all of the wonderful people, places, and things in my life. I remind myself that I’m alive, I’m okay, and I’m fully capable of overcoming any obstacles. I have every moment of life from now to live with happiness.

Preservation:

It was difficult at first, but sooner or later it took less and less time to get back into the game. The negative times have become less and less frequent, or it took lesser time to come out of a bad mood even though it occurred. I still face lot of problems but they don’t devastate me anymore. When something doesn't go my way, I simply go a different route. Things might not have become easier but I find it easy to move on, I started accomplishing much more. I am feeling happier every day.

The more you think positive, the easier it gets to think positive. Whatever happens in our life is the result of our thoughts. More you think positive the more positive our life becomes. Like everything else in life, it takes practice. Slowly we will be able to take our life in a positive way. There will be up and downs in life, when you are feeling down stop for a minute and think about everything you are grateful for. Instead of thinking about your problems, think about your accomplishments. The difference between a good day and a bad day is nothing more than the perspective in which it’s viewed.

Think positive, and you’ll make a positive impact on this world.
